Thank you for such an amazing week! I am so happy I was asked to be a part of this experience - it has been so rewarding and enriching in ways I never could have imagined. I enjoyed working with you in the studio and getting to know all of you and your work! Bob and I were both so impressed with your work ethic, experimental and explorative spirit, and collaboration - not to mention the quantity and quality of the work you all created. Enjoy this next week and please, please don't be a stranger!
Love,
Monica
Thanks also to you and Bob!
ReplyDeleteSo everyone, I spent the ride home thinking about what Bob suggested -putting our art work together as a touring exhibit or show. As, I mentioned, I will talk to Museum of Arts and Science (MOAS) -Daytona Beach. Before, I do that, I would need 2-3 quality photos of the pieces in which you would like to exhibit (remember you would be responsible for framing and shipping). You can wait until after your final project is completed in order to include that. I will also need titles if you have them along with your name and city, state. This would be a great opportunity to "get our work out there" and be great on a resume. I would personally take care of return shipping process but you would have to pay for it.
We can collaborate on the proposal together through an online program if wished. As for the show, I had a couple of thoughts: It would be really cool to include our experience as part of the art. As Kyle mentioned the process was our hero. There could be a digital slideshow depicting the process and experience. Even our experience with the song bowls. Maybe Bob could record it to be played in the gallery or at least on a slideshow with all of our work. Our reflections could also be displayed.
If we develop a quality proposal, each of us could use it to tap sources in their own home towns for further shows. Another idea, that I had would be to contact the authors of the two books and see if they are interested in becoming involved or maybe they would find the blog interesting. Let me know what you all think.
